What is Task Health

Home-health agencies across New York need assessment visits done for their patients. Task Health is how those visits reach nurses.

You see what is open near you, take the ones that suit you, do the visit and finish the paperwork in the app before you leave. That is the job. There is no office to report to and no schedule handed to you.

What you’ll need

New York RNs, and eight documents.

That’s the whole list. We work in New York only, and the Department of Health requires every document below, so none of it can be skipped.

  • New York RN license

    Valid and unexpired. New York is the only state we work in.

  • Personal Liability Insurance

    Aggregate coverage of $3,000,000 or more. It’s quick to get, and affordable.

  • Pre-employment physical

    From the last 12 months.

  • Rubella and Rubeola immunity

    A blood test or your vaccination records.

  • Negative TB result

    A PPD (TST) or QuantiFERON lab result from the last 12 months.

  • Flu and Hep B vaccination

    If applicable to you.

  • Child Abuse Recognition & Reporting course

    The mandated-reporter training certificate. The course can be completed for free online through a state-approved provider.

    Expect the switch to the app

    The application ends on this website. Onboarding itself happens in the Task Health app, and you sign in there with the same mobile number you just used.

    Still gathering a document? Apply anyway and add it when you have it. You can’t be cleared until everything is in, but nothing is lost in the meantime.

    Start picking visits near you

    Once you’re cleared, open visits near you appear in the app with the pay on each one. You choose which ones fit your week. A lot of nurses fit them in before or after a full-time shift.

$100 bonus

You get a $100 bonus after completing 10 visits. Orientation itself isn’t paid, and we’d rather say so now than after. If you get stuck anywhere in onboarding, support is there during business hours, by chat or a ticket, right in the app.

The work and the pay

Can I do this if I already work full-time?

Yes, and a lot of our nurses do. You pick the visits you want and say when you can go, so most people fit them in before or after their regular shift. Nothing gets assigned to you.

How long is a visit?

About an hour, usually. They're home-health assessments close to you: Start of Care, Reassessment, Supervisory, Discharge and Resumption of Care.

How does scheduling work?

You browse the open visits near you in the app and pick the ones that work for you. We confirm with the patient and let you know once it's set. No phone calls, no back-and-forth.

When and how do I get paid?

Visits pay $70 to $130 depending on the type and the area, and the amount is on the visit before you commit. Once the visit is done your pay goes out the same day through InstaPay, automatically — there's nothing for you to claim or chase.

How does tax work?

You're paid on a W-9. You'll fill yours in during onboarding in the app, so it's done once and out of the way.

Is there someone I can reach if I need help?

Yes. There's chat inside the app and you can open a support ticket whenever you need one, and someone gets back to you during business hours.

Getting started

Do I have to be licensed in New York?

Yes. Task Health visits are in New York only, so you'll need a valid, unexpired New York RN license.

What do I need to get started?

All of the below, because we're regulated by the Department of Health:

  • A valid, unexpired New York RN license
  • Personal Liability Insurance with aggregate coverage of $3,000,000 or more
  • A pre-employment physical from the last 12 months
  • Rubella and Rubeola immunity: blood test or vaccination records
  • A negative TB lab result, PPD (TST) or QuantiFERON, from the last 12 months
  • Flu and Hep B vaccination, if applicable
  • A Child Abuse Recognition & Reporting (mandated reporter) training certificate — the course can be completed for free online through a state-approved provider
  • A valid government-issued photo ID

What if I don't have everything yet?

Apply anyway. We can't onboard you until every document is in, but nothing stops you from starting now, gathering what's missing at your own pace and finishing when you're ready. Applying is free.

Do I need my own insurance, and how do I get it?

Yes: Personal Liability Insurance with aggregate coverage of $3,000,000 or more. It's quick and affordable to arrange, and nso.com is one example of a provider nurses use.

How soon can I start after I apply?

Applying takes a couple of minutes and just a few quick details. Onboarding is fully online after that, and if your documents are ready it can be done within a few hours.

Will I be paid for orientation?

Orientation itself isn't paid, but you'll get a $100 bonus after you complete 10 visits.
